Laverne Scott Edenfield

June 27, 1942 — March 19, 2016

Laverne Scott Edenfield, 73, of Chattahoochee, passed away peacefully at her residence, March 19, 2016 with her children, relatives and close friends by her side.

Laverne was born June 27, 1942 in Quincy, Fl, but lived her entire life in Chattahoochee. She was married to Curtis McLendon Edenfield July 16, 1960 until his death in March, 1983. In April of 1999, she retired as a UTRSII supervisor from Florida State Hospital. Laverne was a member of Grace Community Baptist Church of Bainbridge, GA. and enjoyed being outdoors fishing with Pete and spending time in her flower gardens. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and especially with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Durham (1907-1976) and Rubye Mae Scott (1919-2012) and her late husband, Curtis McLendon Edenfield (1940-1983).

She is survived by her daughter, Deidra Dawn McDaniel and husband, Roger; her son Jason McLendon Edenfield and wife, Danielle all of Grand Ridge; two brothers, Harry D. Scott and wife, Meta of Tallahassee, Randy Scott and wife, Candi of England; one sister, Marie W. Scott of Chattahoochee; Loving companion of 32 years, Pete Comerford of Sneads; grandchildren, Charles McDaniel and wife, Crystal, Kendall Lynn Barnett, Matthew Eric and Tanner McLendon Edenfield; great-grandchildren, JoeMac, Ryder, Levi, CJ McDaniel and Madalynn Grace Davis; extended family, Phillip Comerford and wife, Christina, their children Lacey, Makaila, Jaden and Blaine. The family wishes to express a special thank you to her Caregiver, Barbara Hatcher of Grand Ridge and the staff of Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. (Eastern) Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Grace Community Baptist Church, 2059 Booster Club Rd. Bainbridge, GA 39819, near Chattahoochee with Reverends Conrad Salter & Robert Johns officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee, with James & Sikes Funeral Home Sneads Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
