James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Theron Lane Harris, 71, of Malone, Fl., passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his home after an extended illness. T.Lane graduated from Graceville High School Class of 1959 and then Chipola Jr. College. He served his country with the U.S. Navy and afterwards graduated from Florida State University School of Music. He retired after 30 years with the Jackson County School Board having served as band directors for Cottondale High School, Graceville Middle School and Graceville High School. Mr. Harris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Malone and enjoyed playing the stand up bass and singing in the church choir. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Clay (Sonny) Harris, Jr. and Eloise Bowen Harris of Graceville. He is survived by his wife, Ella Mae Harris of Malone, his stepsons, T.G. Harkrider Jr, of Dellwood, Max Harkrider and wife, Amanda of Marianna; step grandsons, Lil Max and Hoke Harkrider also of Marianna; brothers. Henry Clay Harris,III, and wife, Linda, of Panacea; James Harris and wife, Peggy; Bill Harris all of Graceville; sister, Twilla Harris of Panama City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Malone with Revs. Ladon Brackin, Charles Clark & Jackie Register officiating. Interment will be in Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Graceville. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct. Family will receive friends Monday, from 5-7 p.m. at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
