L. "Walt" W. Waters

LCDR. L. W. "Walt" Waters, U.S. Navy retired, 86, of Grand Ridge died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at his home in Grand Ridge. A native of Baylis, Illinois, Mr. Waters was a Naval Aviator, had resided in Jackson County for the past 30 years, he was a former member of the East Jackson County Lion Club and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Lee Waters of Grand Ridge; one son, Jeff Waters and wife Donna of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; a host of additional family members. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Dykes Cemetery in Grand Ridge with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Maddox Chapel."
