James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Marianna, Floirda 32446 Kenneth Basford of Greenwood departed this life late Thursday evening, February 7, 2008. Mr. Basford was a life long resident of Jackson County graduating from Greenwood High School in 1956 and a retired employee of The State of Florida with the Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ressie Mercer Basford of Greenwood. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Basford, his daughter, Karen O'Neal both of Greenwood; a son, Ross Basford and wife Brooke of Okinawa, Japan; grandchildren, Angie Dean and Cora McMullian of Tallahassee, Madison Basford of North Carolina and Sydney Basford of Okinawa, Japan; special friends, Shannon Williams and the Farn's family. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Monday, February 11, 2008 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Eric Durham officiating, burial will follow at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at Maddox Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice of Marianna.
