Hughes Olivia June Marie Moran Hughes, loving wife and mother passed away to be with her Lord on January 21, 2009 after a long brave battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 49 years, Willie James (Sonny) Hughes. She is also survived by three loving sons, Timmy and Candie Hughes of Cowarts, AL; Rodney Hughes of Marianna, FL and special friend, Debbie Evans of Jakin, GA; and Scotty and Melissa Hughes of Marianna, FL. She also leaves behind three brothers, Odom and Janice Moran; Jimmy and Janet Moran both of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Bobby Moran of Marianna, FL; three sisters, Mary Ann Ham of Niceville, FL, Sherry and Don Forehand, and Brenda Baggett of Tallahassee, FL. June has ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, as well as many beloved sisters-and brothers-in-law who were dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junius and Lucille Moran; one brother Albert Moran formerly of Tallahassee. June worked in the local banking industry for over 30 years. She was actively involved in her community including secretary for the Cliff Abbott Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church of Marianna, the church choir, the Lula Rawls Service Guild, the Chipola Ministries, and was a member of the Ladies Optimist Club. June loved her family, gardening, church, cooking, traveling, and shopping. She will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her.. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at The First United Methodist Church in Marianna with Dr. Bob McKibben and Rev. Bob Calvert officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will recieve friends at the church Saturday, beginning at 12 Noon until 1:30 P.M. The family welcomes flowers since she loved flowers as well as donations to the ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Research Foundation and Covenant Hospice. www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com
