James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Julia Layman Budd, 88, of Marianna died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 in Marianna. She was born in Van Duzer Valley, Arkansas in 1923, lived most of her life in Marianna where she was a member of more than 50 years at First United Methodist Church of Marianna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Budd and her son, Thomas Dan Budd. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Frances Martin and husband, Robert of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Dr. Mary Sue Martin of Crystal River, and Robert Ray Martin, Jr. of Greenwood; brother-in-law, Rev. James A. Budd and wife, Marlene of Canton, GA.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. Interment will be at Greenwood Methodist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel. The family wishes to extend appreciation to Dr. Chin, the south wing nurses and staff at Marianna Health and Rehab for all the kindness and love shown to our mother and granny.
