She lived most of her life in Marianna where she owned and operated Henry's Shoe Store before moving to Mexico Beach where she enjoyed long walks on the beach and collecting sea shells. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry E. Sims, her parents John Daniel and Lettie Ann Rooks, a son-in-law Rob Muirhead, 15 brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Muirhead of Altamonte Springs, Fl, Diane Black (Bill) of Wilson, AR and one son, John Homer Sims (Deborah) of Marianna, Fl. Grandchildren, MaryBeth North (Chad), Caryn Bronson (Doug), Johanna Muirhead all of Altamonte Springs, FL, Alan McDonald (Jan) of Seattle, WA, Michael Black (Christina), Kelly Maughan (Travis) all of Orlando, Patrick Black ( Sherry) of Jonesboro, AR, Greta Charles (Steven), Stan Sims (Elaine), Russell Sims (Melanie), Kara Jones (Johnny) all of Marianna, Fl. And 17 great grandchildren and a very special friend that was like a sister, Jean Cousins of Mexico Beach. Service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Officiating the service will be Bishop Danny Sims, Gerald Gause, Petey Sims, Buddy Rooks and Dave Johnson. Burial will follow at Sink Creek Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Monday, one hour prior to service at the church. Pall Bearers will be Michael Black, Stan Sims, Russell Sims, Steven Charles, Mark Sims and Carey Strickland.
