Johnnie Leon "Creekwalker" Foran

December 7, 1954 — February 14, 2009

Johnnie Foran, 54, of Marianna passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at his home. A native and life long resident of Jackson County, he was Baptist by faith, a U. S. Army veteran having served proudly as his father did with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Johnnie loved his family. Loved to fish, especially with his brother Steve. His friends called him "Creekwalker". He loved music and playing the harmonica and was noted for his sausage making at Foran' Store. He was preceded in death by his parents, George P. and Hazel Ross Foran; a niece, Kathy Ann Elmore Robinson. Survivors include three brothers, Pat Foran and wife Betty of Marianna, Foster Foran and wife Marlene of Raceland, LA. and Steve Foran of Marianne; Three sisters, Dianna Chamblis and husband Wayne of Malone, Irene King of Daleville and Sharon Saunder and fiance Dr. Lionel Price of Panama City; a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral service will be 2 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donnie Hussey officiating, military honors will be provided by the Sneads American Legion Post 241 with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 pm Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Maddox Chapel."
