Johnnie Davis Cook, 79, of Marianna died Friday, April 3, 2009 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. A life long resident of Jackson County, Miss Cook was protestant by faith. She retired as Supervisor of the Marianna office of HRS where she began her career in 1961 and retiring in 1989. In October 1998 the Marianna City Commissioners appointed Miss Cook to the board of the Marianna Health and Rehab Center, she became vice-chairman from March of 2006 till December 2006 at which time she became Board Chairperson till January 2009 at which time she resigned for health reason. She was a former member of the Marianna Pilot Club. Survivors include two sisters, Dora Brannon and husband Charles of St. George Island, Yvonne Barnes and husband Roland of Ashford; nieces and nephews, Donna Barnes Adcock and husband Phil, Lori Barnes Williams and husband Brooks, Bill Barnes, Leisa McCullion and husband Tom, Chuck Brannon and wife Patti, Jennie Gaudette and husband Jim and Sherri Brannon; great nieces and nephews, Patrick Adcock, Maygan and Joey Gately, Amber and Matt Warner, Ashley and Michele Brannon, Erycka Hurst, Sean McCullion, very special cousin, Linda Cook Sullivan; many other close relatives. Graveside funeral services will be 11 am Monday, April 6, 2009 at Kynesville Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roland Rabon officiating with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Maddox Chapel.
