John Houyoux

John "Jack" Houyoux, 95, of Marianna died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his residence. Born in Franklin, NJ, Mr. Houyoux had resided in Marianna for the past nine years. A graduate of Rutgers University, he was a United States Air Force veteran, having served as a pilot in the Pacific Theater and during the Korean War as a Reserve Officer in military mapping in the Pentagon. Following his service in the military, he continued in the government and private business until 1960, when, combining his interests of flying, mapping and photography, he started his own business - Air Photographics, Inc. in Martinsburg, WV. The company supplies precision aerial photography to civilian engineering mapping clients in private industry and federal, state and local governments throughout the East Coast. Jack enjoyed round dancing, golfing, playing his guitar and keyboard, and visits from his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Eleanor, of Marianna, two daughters, Ellie Klebonis and husband John of Sebastian, FL; Anne Sims and husband Shannon of Marianna; one son, Richard Houyoux and wife Nancy of Norristown, PA; nine grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, CST, Friday, December 27, 2013 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will be directing. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until funeral time at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
