Joe Lewis Morrow Joe L. Morrow, owner of Ashley Hall Interiors, Inc., New Orleans, LA, died in Williamsburg, Virginia on December 23, 2009 from complications of pneumonia at the age of 69. Mr. Morrow is preceded in death by his mother Mary Frances Morrow, his father George W. Morrow, Sr., his sister Frances M. Taylor, nephew George Bryant Morrow; survived by three brothers George W. Morrow, Jr., of Denison, TX; John M. Morrow of Graceville, FL, Andrew (Andy) J. Morrow of Albuquerque, NM; special friends, Dr. Andrew Orestano, Jim and Betty Brooks Doss. Also survived by his nieces Mary A. Taylor, Graceville, FL; Annette Armstrong, Durant, OK; Anna M. Thomas Graceville, FL; Andrea M. Walker, Rocklin, CA; nephews George Allen (Skip) Taylor, Roswell, GA; Dr. Jack Morrow, Ft. Worth, TX; Joe Pender Morrow, Willow Park, TX; William D. (Bill) Morrow, Graceville, FL; Andrew Kirk, Bend, OR; his Godchildren Bo Jardine and Alexandra Pearson as well as many great nieces and nephews. Joe gave unselfishly of himself and his talent will be greatly missed by many. Joe graduated from Graceville High School in 1958 and from the Ray Vogue School of Art, Chicago, IL in 1962 and became a member of the American Society of Interior Design. Upon graduation, he took a trip around the world. He enlisted in the Air National Guard in New Orleans. He began his professional career as a staff designer for New Idea in 1963 and opened Ashley Hall Interiors, Inc. in 1967. Joe has designed the interiors of many homes in Louisiana as well as nationally and most of his clients became his dearest friends. His work has been published in many publications such as Southern Accents, Southern Living, Veranda Magazine, New Orleans Magazine, Louisiana Life Magazine, St. Louis Magazine, LUXE the Colorado Home Redefined and Upstate Lake Living, Seneca, SC. Ashley Hall was listed in Architectural Digest as one of America's Finest Interior Design Firms in 1984. Joe was listed in New Orleans Magazine's People to Watch in 1991. He is on the design board for the Louisiana Governor's Mansion Foundation as well as the New Orleans Opera Advisory Board. He designed the interior of the The Opera Guild House in New Orleans. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1111 8th Avenue Graceville. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 30th at 10:00a.m. where he will be eulogized by Robert Hawson, Edward McCarthy, Robert Johnston and the Rev. Dan Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Pallbearers will be Dr. Jack Morrow, Joe P. Morrow, George Allen Taylor, William D. Morrow, Paten Morrow and William Pitre. There will be a memorial service at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church, New Orleans, LA to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the New Orleans Opera Association 1010 Common Street, New Orleans, LA 70112; Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church 3900 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70112 or any charity of your choice.
