Joe Wayne Bradberry, 79, of Bascom died peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
He was a native and life long resident of Jackson County. Joe served our country in both the United States Air Force and Navy. He retired from Insurance Sales after working for Independent Life and American General insurance Companies in the Marianna Service area. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom where he served as a deacon. Joe touched many lives playing guitar and singing throughout his life. The family wishes to thank Covenant Hospice for the love, care and compassion they showed during this time.
He was Preceded in death by his father, Joe Franklin Bradberry; mother, Ruby Arlene Johnson (Conrad); Brother, Roy Bradberry and a sister, Margette Bradberry.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gayle Culpepper Bradberry; daughter, Lana Blackburn; two grandsons, Trevor and Seth Blackburn; sister, Jeanette Taylor and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5pm- 7pm at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10 am from the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bascom with Dr. Jerry Windsor, Revs. Henry Fullington & Paul Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Homes Maddox Chapel Directing.
