JoAnn Bell Holm passed away on April 5, 2014, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was born in Malone, Florida on April 27, 1943.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Lou and Bloss Bell, and her brother, Fred Bell.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Marianna, Florida, daughter Terry O'Connor of Pensacola, Florida, grandchildren James (Lauren) Harris of Oahu, Hawaii, and Christine (Jared) Baldwin of Jacksonville, Florida, and great granddaughter, Lexi Sapp. She is also survived by her brothers William (Kandy) Bell of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robert (Lisa) Bell of Pensacola, and her sister Lou Bell Lanier of Mountain Brook, Alabama. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step-children.
JoAnn was a resident of Pensacola for over fifty years and was actively involved in the community. She was a long-time realtor and the manager/owner of Bartee Chiropractic Clinic. After her retirement, she became an artist and produced many award-winning paintings. She served as President of the Pilot Club, Krewe of Aphrodite, and Art Study Club. In 2013, she was honored as Queen by the Maids of Luna. In recent years, she and her husband relocated to Merrits Mill Pond in the Marianna area where she enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and boating activities.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Marianna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 2901 Caledonia St. Marianna, FL 32446, or to the organization of your choice. James Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel is in charge of arrangments.
