Joan Hamilton Ramseyer, 86, of Sneads died peacefully in her sleep Friday, February 26, 2016 with her family by her side.
Miss Joan was a wonderful loving mother and friend. She collected many beautiful objects, was a passionate gardner, loved bird watching, chocolate, movies, game shows, and was fluent on current events. Miss Joan traveled the United States and Canada with her life long companion Leonard.
She was preceded in death by her common law husband, Leonard Holt; son John D. Ramseyer; grandson, Jason Ramseyer; sisters, Trixie, Jackie and Sandra.
Survivors include her dear sister, Eva Hines; daughter Kathy Roulston; son, James Ramseyer and wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Rita Holton, Eric Holton, Mason Roulston and wife Lora, Elizabeth Roulston, Grace Roulston, Amanda Burke, Cassie Powell and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Ernie Gray officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow at Sneads First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
