Jimmy Albert Varnum, Jr. of Altha, Florida died, Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Jackson Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1963 in Port St. Joe, Florida to Jimmy and Patricia Varnum. When Jimmy was five, his family moved to Altha. After graduating high school, Jimmy went to work for Liberty County Corrections Institute as a corrections officer, where he worked until his retirement.
Jimmy's family was the center of his world, especially his grandchildren. He had a gift for talking and was often times found on his phone, typically talking to his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising wild game and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Varnum; parents, Jimmy and Patrica Varnum; children, Trey Varnum, Brandie Varnum; grandchildren, Katie'Lyn Simerson, AnnaLeah Simerson; brother, Stacy Varnum and wife, Malinda; sister, Shannon Varnum and significant other, Brant Creamer; nieces and nephews, Reid Barton, Ryan Barton and Makaila Ammons, all of Altha, Florida.
Funeral services for family and close friends were conducted Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:00 in Altha Church of God with Pastor Allen Nichols officiating, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directed.
