Jimmy Jenkins was born in Marianna Florida on October 16, 1951 and passed due to complications following surgery on December 22, 2024 at the age of 73 years old.
He is survived by his spouse and partner of 33 years, Brian, as well as two sisters Cathy Walters (Wayne) and Brenda Kennison (Don) as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a sister-in-law, Diana Vincent. Mr. Jenkins was proud of his time served in the United States army during the Vietnam War. He was especially proud of the Bulgogi he learned to cook while stationed in Korea.
After an honorable discharge, he began working with the State of Florida and eventually retired after more than 30 years in the field of developmental disabilities. In 2002, he was a chef at an English school in Progresso Mexico for six months and upon return from Mexico he spent his retirement spoiling his spouse, Brian, and taking care of the many family members and friends he met over the years. He was not happy if he was not helping or taking care of someone else. He had a very large, kind heart.
Memorialization was by cremation, and Jimmy will be buried next to his mother in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens during a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his name to the Brandywine ASPCA.
