Jimmy D. Folsom, 74, of Grand Ridge, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.
Jimmy was born June 2, 1947, to Ray and Mildred Folsom in Grand Ridge, Florida.
Jimmy was a retired Warden with the Department of Corrections. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and working. Most of all Jimmy loved and cherished his time with his family with all his heart. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a member at the Masonic Lodge in Marianna.
Jimmy was a pure-hearted man who would give the clothes off his own back to be sure his family and friends were nurtured and cared for. He was a hard-working man, who could outwork most young and old men, from a young age all the way to his untimely death. As well, Jimmy was a Southern Baptist who strived to walk in the steps of Jesus daily. The world has lost a truly hard-working, loving, and God-fearing man that can never be replaced.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mildred Folsom of Grand Ridge FL; brother, Jerry Folsom of Grand Ridge, FL; and sister, Sandra Folsom of Grand Ridge, FL
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Folsom of Grand Ridge; sister, Jan Cook (Bobby Cook) of Grand Ridge, Fl; son, Charles Folsom of Grand Ridge, FL; daughter, Kristie Hall (Jody Hall) of Petal, MS; eight grandchildren, Ashlee Kelly (Clint Kelly), Jacob Hall, Joshua Tindall, Jennilynn Hall, Jolie Hall, Jimmy Ray Folsom, Remington Folsom, Zorrie Folsom; three great-grandchildren, Anslee Kelly, Jaxton Kelly and one due in January of 2022.
Memorial service will be 2 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Eastside Baptist Church with Bill Stephens & Mike Daniels officiating.
