Jessie Ruth was a native and life long resident of Jackson County. She worked along side of her husband, running the family business's Gilmore Electric and P & J Sporting Goods. She was a wonderful homemaker, she loved the Lord and served faithfully in her church, Trinity Baptist for more than 42 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom and Rena Kent Kirkland; three brothers, Cecil, Eugene and Carrol Kirkland; two sisters, Evelyn Griffin, Martha Lou Sowell and husband, Shorty. Survivors include her husband, Roy "Jiggs" Gilmore; two sons, Darwin Gilmore and wife, Cheri, Jason Gilmore and wife, Carolyn all of Marianna; brother in-law, J C Griffin, of Kynesville; six grandchildren, Gray, Seth, Emily and James Adam Gilmore; Neal and Kendall Smith. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Monday, February 9, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church in Marianna with Pastor Roland Rabon officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at Trinity Baptist Church.
