Jessie Tindell Edenfield, 76 passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Jackson Hospital, with family at his side.
Jessie served his country in the United States Army, as a medic in the Vietnam war. After completing his tour, he returned to his hometown of Grand Ridge, Florida. He attended Lovedale Baptist Church. He was known as the “A/C Man” around the Jackson County area. Jessie taught HVAC at Chipola Jr College and several State of Florida agencies including River Junction, ACI, and CCA. Later in his career, he served as maintenance at Sunland.
He enjoyed wood working, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family, especially his great-grandchildren, Coulson and Evelyn.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ruby Edenfield, and his stepdaughter, Heather Wartenberg. He is survived by his wife, Ronda Basford Edenfield, married 39 years; his two children, Elizabeth Edenfield, John Edenfield (Jackie); stepdaughter, Katrina Reese; grandchildren, Alexandria Langford, Tristan Edenfield, Dena Edenfield McDaniel (Laine), Sasha Reese; and great-grandchildren, Coulson Jessie and Evelyn Jane.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, February 16, 2024 at Lovedale Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday, February 15, 2024 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
