Jerry was a native and lifelong resident of Alford, served in the US Army for two years and he was stationed in Germany. Jerry loved working with wood, he retired as owner-operator of Kent's Cabinet Shop with more than 25 years of service to the community. Preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Marie Kent, daughter, Brandy Kent and granddaughter, Tristen Sims. Survivors include his three daughters, Bengie K. Sims and husband, Anthony of Marianna, Wendy Burke and husband, James of Sneads, Andi Kent of Dellwood; lifelong friend, and mother of his children, Sue Kent of Dellwood; one brother, Benjamin Kent, Jr. of Panama City, Fl; three sisters, Neoma Finch of Wausau, Ann Briggs of Cottondale and Linda Harris of Alford; Three Grandchildren, Terry Willey, Elijah Burke and Levi Burke; longtime friend Joyce Riley; special friend Eloise Owens; best friend Rex Corbin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eastside Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Canada Officiating.
