Jason Matthew Tyms, 52, of Dothan, died Saturday, July 27, 2024, after a motor vehicle accident
He was born April 25, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois to Alex Tyms, Sr. and Melloney Louise Tyms. He met Deanne "Dee" Giglio in 2004 and they were together for 20 years eventually settling in Dothan. Jason and Dee were a dynamic team and were rarely seen apart.
Jason was a master mechanic and worked for many automobile repair shops in the Enterprise and Dothan area. He was known for his honesty and personal integrity. His skills were in great demand and he was pursued by numerous repair shops in the area. Jason, an Eagle Scout, enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time working at Dee's family property Jackson County Florida where he enjoyed hours of working the land and helping with various improvements. Jason also had a love for dogs. He was notorious for rescuing strays and abandoned dogs and bringing them home much to the chagrin of Dee.
Jason grew up in an Army family and lived in Illinois, South Carolina, Virginia, and Germany before settling in Enterprise when his father was assigned to Ft Rucker. Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Tyms, Sr. and Melloney L. Tyms and his sister, Tina Ann Tyms.
He is survived by his eldest brother, Alex Tyms, Jr. (Michelle) of Minocqua, Wisconsin, his youngest brother, Jerry Joseph Tyms of Enterprise; and his nephew, Dakota Tyms of Enterprise.
A funeral service for immediate family will be at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. A celebration of life will be held in the fall at Dee's family farm. Details will be shared through his Facebook page.
