James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Janie Frances Rowell, 93, of Grand Ridge died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Janie was a native and life long resident of Jackson County, and a member of Cypress United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rowell loved quilting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cuthbert A. Rowell; four sisters, Sadie Stapleton, Elma Hollister, Sally Grantham and Betty Klimusuko; two brothers, Dowling and William Hollister. She is survived by four sons, Louis Dulay and wife, Terry, of Folsom, CA., C. Emery Rowell of Cypress, Henry Rowell of Cypress, Francis G. Rowell of Cypress; daughter, Cecelia Diskerud and Husband, Gary, of Crawfordville; brother, Herbert Hollister of Cypress; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at New Testament Baptist Church in Cypress with Rev. John Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
