Jane Cawthon

Charlotte Jane Cawthon, 70 of Hartford, AL passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at her daughters residence in Black following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Union Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Carson Fender officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Ms. Jane was born in Holmes County, FL on May 11, 1941 to the late Ed Ked Austin and Mary Odell Carroll Austin. Ms. Jane was a graduate of Bethlehem High School, Class of 1959. After receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse from Wallace College she worked in various hospitals in the Wiregrass area and also traveled for a number of years. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husbands Bevo Freer and Don Cawthon. Survived by two sons Eddie Freer, Slocomb, AL, Johnny Bigbie, Reading, PA,; three daughters Grace Freer, Black, AL, Doreen Freer, Enterprise, AL, Sarah Legault, Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
