James M. Long Jr.

James M. Long, 52, of Alford, Florida passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012. Mr. Long was born July 31, 1959 to James and Sylvia Woods Long in Bay County, Florida. A U. S. Navy veteran, James was a hard-working man, beloved father, and cherished friend. He was a former employee of Elmore Electrical Company of Cottondale and was presently employed with Rex Lumber Company in Graceville. He was preceded in death by his wife Sheila Long and father James. James is survived by mother Sylvia; his children, son and daughter-in-law DJ and Kim Long; daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Sean Blanchard; and son Brian Long; grandchildren Donny James Long, Jr. and Afton Reanne Blanchard; siblings Cindy Burris, Margaret Herndon, Bobbie Lee, Deborah Johnson, Linda Roland, Tammy Maude, Samuel and William Long; and first wife Diane Collins. Graveside memorial ceremony will be 11 am, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at White Pond Baptist Church, Cemetery 1392 Faith Drive in Alford, Florida officiated by close family friend James Elmore with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. A Time of Remberance will be at White Pond Baptist Church following immediately after the services.
