Richard was a life long resident of Cottondale, self-employed truck driver and was a member of Damascus Free Will Baptist Church in Marianna. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jean Cook Hargrove; one daughter, Carolyn H. Powell and husband, Larry; two brothers, Al Hargrove and wife, Linda of Tallahassee, Roy Hargrove and wife, Connie of Cottondale; six sisters, Shirley Hargrove, Jewell Whitehead, Frances Tindell, of Cottondale, Myrl Armstrong and husband, Earl of Graceville, Agnes Dykes, of Dellwood, Margie Greenman and husband, Howard of Sneads; sister in law, Sadie Hargrove of Cottondale; brothers-in-law, Bobby Cook and wife, Faye of Bascom, James Cook of Dothan and Hubert Cook.; sister in law, Ann Brunson of Texas; host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Powell and Odis Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
