James R. Fortune

Mr. James R. Fortune, 76, of Alford, died Monday, September 29, 2008, at his residence. A native of Troy, Alabama Mr. Fortune had resided in Jackson County for many years. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Fortune of Alford; seven daughters, Debora Gay and husband Alfred of Alford, Linda Benefield and husband Carrol of Cottondale, Glenda Cogburn and husband David of Alford, Kathy Hamm and husband Lewis, Rene Mathis and husband David, Thelma Barnes and husband Garry all of Alford, Dottie Acosta and husband Jim of St. Augustine; one brother, Jerry Fortune and wife Nancy of Ft. Walton Beach; one Sister, Fay Harrison of Alford. Numerous Grandchildern and Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, October 3, 2008 at Round Lake Baptist Church with Rev. James Vickery officiating. Burial will follow in Round Lake Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel."
