James Edward Cobb

James Edward "Edd" Cobb, 77, of Marianna, Fl. passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008, at his home , 2954 Russ Street. He was born October 7, 1930 in Andalusia, Al to the late Earnest and Elizabeth "Betty" Cobb. He and his family have resided in Marianna for the past 50 years. Mr. Cobb first worked at Quality Tire and Recapping Co,, later going into business for himself at Cobb Front End and Tire Service, where he worked until he retired. He was also a volunteer fireman for 15 years with the Marianna Fire Dept. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Guy Cobb and a sister Winnie Faye Dye. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Vivian Canant Cobb of Marianna, their two children, Peggy Linton & husband Kenny, Larry Cobb and wife Teri, all of Marianna. He is also survived by a sister Emily Davis, of Pensacola, and nine grandchildren; Melissa Linton, Kristy Vickery, Jake Linton, Sandy Baker, Lacey Linton, Josie Register, Casey Cobb, Melanie Cobb, and Levi Cobb, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Brandon Griffin and Brother Jim Dye officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Maddox Chapel. Funeral arrangements will be announced by James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel."
