James Chesley Barber, 68 of Graceville passed away Tuesday July 28 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Graceville with Revs. Charles Jackson, Quillian Carver and Albert Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Victory Faith Tabernacle Cemetery(formerly known as Sand Hill Community Church) with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Mr. Barber was born in Panama City, Florida on February 15, 1941 to the late Chesley Barber and Lizzie Mae Wise Barber Simmons. He was retired from Bay County Fleet Maintenance. Mr. Barber was a member of the First Assemly of God Church in Graceville where he served as a board member. Preceded in death by his son Walter Barber. Survived by his beloved wife Joyce of Graceville, two daughters Carol & Glenn Bishop of Bruce, FL, Brenda & Steve Rhodes of Graceville; brother Donal Barber of Vista, CA; sister Sarah Barber of Youngstown, FL; eight grandchildren, six step grandchildren,twenty three step great grandchildren; and three special friends Joe Franklin, Billy Franklin, Eric Woods and families.
