James Linwood Anderson passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at his home in Bascom, Florida. He was born in Moultrie, Georgia, November 12, 1947. James was a lifelong resident of Bascom and owner of Anderson Heating & Cooling. He served two years in the military in Vietnam where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Shannon Ryals Anderson, mother Chalmas Anderson Stone, father Linwood Watford Anderson, brother Tommy Anderson and sister Barbara Anderson. He is survived by his three sister, Linda Anderson Thomas and husband Jimmy of Donalsonville, GA., Edna Jean Henry and husband Terrell of Bascom, and Pam Dickson of Marianna; one brother John David Anderson of Bascom, FL.; He was loved by his numerous nephews and nieces and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Maddox Chapel with Chris Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Bascom Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. the family will receive friends from 10 AM, Thursday, June 19, 2014 until funeral time at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
