Jack "Mac" Porter

Jack M. "Mac" Porter, 73, of the Cypress Community died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard. Born in Calhoun County, Mr. Porter was a US Marine Corp. veteran and had resided in Jackson County for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Mac was preceded in death by his son, William Derrick Porter; his parents, John and Margaret McCormick Porter. Survivors include his daughter, Tracey Porter of Sneads; his brother, Johnny Porter and wife Nell of Milton, Fl; his companion and caregiver for the past 18 years, Linda Oliva of Cypress; three grandchildren and three great grand children. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Luther Pumphrey officiating. Interment will be at Lipford Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until funeral time, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Maddox Chapel.
