J.W. Rabon, age 79, of Sneads, FL passed away suddenly on Sunday evening, March 14, 2021 at his residence.
Born on September 25, 1941 in Sneads, FL, J.W. spent majority of his life living in Jackson County. He retired from Florida Department of Corrections after 20 years of dedicated service. He was also well know for his Auto Body Repair and Painting skills and talents for a number of years.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Dan and Lydia (Hand) Rabon; four sisters: Beatrice Neel, Mildred (Bow) Stephens, Ada Robbirds, and Josphine Rabon; and three bothers: J.L., J.B. and Daniel Rabon.
Survivors included his loving wife of 60 years, Pat Rabon; two sons: Jason Rabon of Sneads, Norman Rabon and wife Lisa of Sneads; one daughter, Sheila Dowling of Sneads; four grandchildren: Shelbi, Madison and Mikayla Rabon and Westley Dowling and one great grandchild: Waylon Chapman Gilbert, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Sneads Assembly of God Church, 2062 River Rd, Sneads FL with Pastor Juno Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery, 3478 Kynesville Rd, Marianna FL. with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing..
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Sneads Assembly of God Church.
In Lieu of flowers, if desired, the family requests any monetary contributions be made in honor of Mr. Rabon for his sons ongoing cancer treatment journey.
