Irene D. Brewer

Irene D. Brewer, 90, formerly of Marianna, Florida, died Saturday, January 25, 2025 at South East Health in Dothan, AL.

She was born February 11, 1934, to Gordan and Pearl Sears Douglas. Irene was a devoted wife to James Brewer for over 40 years until his passing. Her kindness and caring personality shown not only in how she loved her husband, children and grandchildren, but in every area of her life. One of her favorite things to do was have her family around her dining room table. Irene cared not only for her own family, but also the many children she was around during her 20-plus years working for the Jackson County School Board.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Brewer; parents; brothers, Rev. Roy Douglas, Troy Douglas, Irvin Douglas and Arvil Douglas; and sisters, Magdalene Stewart and Trudy Donaldson.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Brewer and wife, Laura; five grandchildren and their families, Amanda Brewer McCleskey and husband, Matt, and their two children, Noah and Ezra, Allison Brewer Sampson and her two children, Kalli and Drew; Kloe Brewer Seaborn, and her daughter, Thalia, Parker Brewer and Presley Brewer.

 The family will have a private memorial service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel in charge of arrangements.
