Hubert was born February 2, 1937. Hubert Earl was an active member and deacon of the First Assembly of God Church, Marianna, and had served as a deacon since the early age of 21. In the past, he also served as Sunday School Supt. and Sunday School teacher. His hobbies were his farm and cattle. He was retired from Alliance Laundry Systems and at the time of his death was employed with Mr. Finley Mc Rae. Hubert is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert A. Tidwell (Edna) of Bascom. He is survived by his wife, Luverne A. Tidwell; two sons, Gregory Earl Tidwell and wife Sherry of Bascom, and William A. Tidwell and wife Beth of Marietta, GA; four grandsons, Cole A. Tidwell of Marietta, GA, and Jason, Jared, and Josh Phillips of Bascom. He also had two great-grandchildren, Haley and Craig Phillips; his mother-in-law, Stella N. Lee of Marianna; brother-in-law Wayne Austin and wife Beth of Southport; sister-in-law Judy Tipton and husband Roy of Marianna; and step-brother-in-law, Timothy W. Jones. Hubert was an avid lover and caretaker to his animals, Savannah, Windsor, and Sweet Pea. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 26 at 2 P.M. at Marianna First Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Stephen Potter and David Long officitaing. The family will receive visitors at James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel from 6-8 P.M. on Saturday, July 25. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present deacons of First Assembly of God; Mr. Leland James, Mr. Rainey Russell, Mr. J.D. Swearingen, Mr. Virgil Rehberg, Mr. Buddy Lord, Mr. Dave Sirum, Mr. Guy Tatum, Dr. Efiong Andem, Mr. Jeff Knight, and Mr. David Baldwin. Active Pallbearers will be nephews of Mr. Tidwell, SSgt.
