, Hubert M. Moore, age 84, of Bonifay died Thursday, February 19, 2015 in Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. Hubert Merlion Moore was born in Samson, Alabama on March 24, 1930 to the late John Pollard and Trudie Bell "Pinkie" Moore. On March 24, 1956, his 26th birthday, he married his beloved Mattie Lou Whitaker. Hubert was employed with GTE as a cable splicer/repairman and retired after 37 years. He had fond memories of serving in the Florida National Guard and the Army. His hobbies included farming, fishing and gardening. Hubert enjoyed playing the guitar, the fiddle and being with family. He was a life-long resident of Holmes County. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Pollard Moore and Trudie Bell "Pinkie" Moore, one sister, Lois Lee, four brothers, Ocie, Arthur, Ottis and Jearl. Hubert is survived by his wife, Mattie Lou, two sons, Larry and wife, Peggy of Graceville, FL; Jerry and wife Kim of Bonifay, FL; and one daughter, Beverly Anderson and husband Charles of Bonifay, FL; five grandchildren, Chris and wife Kelle, Krystal, Clay and wife Sarah, Cason, and Cameron and two great-grandchildren, Logan and John Thomas, and 66 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Carmel Assembly of God Church in Bonifay with Revs. Jerry Moore, Tommy Moore & Matthew Rich officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill United Methodist Cemetery in Holmes County with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.
