Hinton Earl Neel

Hinton Earl Neel, 71, of Sneads, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008, at his residence. Hinton served in the Navy, and retired from construction. He was a very giving person to others. He enjoyed his electronics, fishing with Aunt Agnes, watching boxing on Television, and spending time with his friend "Strick" (Quitman Strickland). Hinton is preceded in death by his father and mother, R L and Lorene Neel; two brothers, Earnest Neel and Othel Neel of Sneads; one sister, Eva Tyus. He is survived by five children, Rhonda Justice and husband Ray of Mebane, NC; Sandra Masho and husband, Ken of Haw River, NC; Danny Neel and wife Teresa of Browns Summit, NC; Randy Neel and wife Laura of Haw River, NC and Melissa Gentry and husband, Andrew of Graham, N.C.; six siblings, Troy Neel and wife, Louise of Sneads, Mattie Williams of Marianna, Esther Manning and husband, Sam of Sevierville, TN.; Cecil Neel of Grand Ridge, Jim Neel and wife, Bytha of Grand Ridge, Annie Mae Haney and husband, Mike of Sneads; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008 at El Bethel Assembly of God Church with Revs. Shelton Kindig and Michael Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with full military rights given by Sneads American Legion Post 241. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 21, from 6-8 p.m. at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
