Hester Marie Harris Peacock

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Hester Marie Harris Peacock, 83 of Marianna died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at South East Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, a homemaker. Mrs. Peacock attended Pine Ridge Baptist Church for many years then later becoming a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Burnell Harris and George Peacock; her parents, James Stout "Jim" Foran and Rebecca Jane Long Foran; seven brothers, Everett, Willie, Willis, Ecker, Edward Lee "Bill" , George and Harrell Foran. Survivors include two daughters, Edna Marie Sapp and husband, Wally of Cottondale, Jane H. Sweeney and husband, M.J. of Marianna; two sisters, Juanita Carpenter and Gladys Hill both of Marianna; six grand children, Cary B. Sapp and wife, Suzanne, Keith B. Sapp and wife, Jennifer all of Marianna, Jeffrey H. Creel and wife, Nicole of Nashville, TN., Kelley C. Chandler and husband, Brian of Deatsville, AL., Gregory B. Sweeney and wife, Melissa, Michele Laramore all of Marianna; 14 great-grandchildren, Nikki Salls, Courtney Sapp, Carylee Sapp, Anne Marie Sapp, Ethan Sapp, Brandon Creel, Cody Creel, Holley Creel, Savannah Creel, Jacob Chandler, Payton Chandler Darbey Sweeney, Dustyn Sweeney and Mikayla Laramore; one great-great-grandson, J.W. Salls; Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Rev. Jack Brock officiating. Interment will be in the Alford Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011 at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
