Herbert Williams, 86, of Marianna died Friday September 4, 2015 at his home after an extended illness. Herbert was born in Chipley where he lived for 23 years before moving to Marianna. He was a Master Carpenter, constructing many homes and buildings in the area. Herbert served as a deacon at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Fannie Williams; brother, Unlyn (Red) Williams; daughter, Rebecca Ann and son, Bill Williams. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah Hall Williams; grandchildren, Glen Williams and wife, Alison, Sharon Williams, Vickie Kent and husband, Holland; great-grandchildren, Natalee and Grant WiIliams; daughter-in-law, Merle Jordan and husband, Tim; brothers, George and Tom Williams. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of twin great-grandchildren in November. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Ezra Caynor, David Melvin and Walter Baxley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Special thanks to a special friend, Emma Gilbert and Gentiva Hospice.
