Helen R. Mercer

Helen Ruth Mercer, 79, of Greenwood died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at her home.

Born in Decatur County, Georgia, Mrs. Mercer had resided in Jackson County most of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Welcome Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Mercer was preceded in death by her husband Colon J. Mercer; a son
Colon E. Mercer; her parents, Lewis and Josephine Sherad White.

Survivors include her grandson, Bryan Mercer and wife Melissa of Crestview, Fl.; three great grandchildren, Dakota, Bryan and Miranda; two sisters, Frances Ward and Jeanette Kyle both of Greenwood, SC.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wayne Fussell officiating. Interment will be at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until funeral time Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church.
