Hattie Hamilton Dykes

Hattie Hamilton Dykes, 91, of Greenwood died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Long Term Care Hospital of the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. A native and life long resident of Jackson County, Mrs. Dykes was of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her husband L. C. Dykes, three sons, James Earl Dykes, Larry Charles Dykes and H. C. Dykes; her parents, Henry and Lydia Mooneyham Hamilton and eight brothers. Survivors include three sons, J. D. Dykes and Carl Dykes, Dearrell Dykes and wife Sharon all of Greenwood; two daughters, Thelma Messick and husband Eddie, Carolyn Melnik and husband Billy all of Sneads; daughter- in- law, Agnes Dykes of Dellwood; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and special friends Fred and Doris Tyre of Grand Ridge. Graveside funeral services will be 10 am Friday, April 11, 2008 at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with Rev. Jack Howell officiating, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Maddox Chapel. "
