Harvey N. "Matt" Hodges

Harvey N. "Matt" Hodges, 72, of Grand Ridge, Florida passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at Jackson Hospital. Born in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Hodges had resided in Grand Ridge for many years where he was a member of the Church of God in Grand Ridge, served on the Grand Ridge Town Council for eight years and retired as Manager of Environmental Control for Jackson County. Harvey was preceded in death by his father, James Harvey Hodges. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carlyon Ray Hodges of Grand Ridge; one daughter, Amy Glisson and husband Kevin of Sneads; one son, Mark Hodges and wife Shelia of Grand Ridge; his mother, Ida Mae Stephens Hodges of Cottondale; two sisters, Shellie Hollis and husband Jack of Marianna, Diane Scurlock and husband Gary of Cottondale; four grandchildren, Kyle Hodges and Taylor Barnhill of Grand Ridge, Kearston and Kade Glisson of Sneads; two great granddaughters, Leigha-Lynn and Lacie of Grand Ridge. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Providence Baptist Church with Revs. Charles Kleiser, Jack Hollis and Nathan Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until funeral time, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Providence Baptist Church.
