Grant Leroy "Buzz" Harkleroad

Grant L. "Buzz" Harkleroad, 63, of Greenwood passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at his residence following an extended Illness. Born November 10, 1948 in NuMine, PA to Grant E. and Lillian Saye Harkleroad Buzz moved with his parents in 1959 to Florida where he met his wife to be in high school and they were married on August 9, 1968. A 1969 Army veteran serving in Vietnam, his tour of duty was at Quang Tri, Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a mechanic from his childhood until 2002 when he became ill. He was a mechanic and service manager at Rahal - Miller Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Nissan dealership for 23 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina Harkleroad and his father, Grant E. Harkleroad. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Nan Harkleroad of Greenwood; one son, Shane Harkleroad and wife Jennifer of Grandridge: two daughters, Tamie Huett and husband James of Ozark, AL, Susanna Therrien and husband Mac of Moyock, NC; his mother, Lillian D. Harkleroad of Marianna; one sister Dutchess White and husband Gene of Marianna; six grandchildren, Katie, Ben and Luke Harkleroad, Christian and Grace Huett, and Levi Therrien. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday, June 4, 2012 at Lovedale Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Winston Reynolds officiating with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 241 of Sneads with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Monday, June 4, 2012 from 1 pm till funeral time at the Lovedale Baptist Church. Flowers are to be omitted and contributions made to the Grant L. "Buzz" Harkleroad fund at Regions Bank.
