Gracie Nell Mears

Gracie Mears, 90, of Marianna died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Mears was born in Houston County, Alabama. She had lived in Jackson County until 1948 then moved to Davie, FL to raise her family with her husband, Leroy Mears. She returned to Marianna in 2005. Mrs. Mears was a kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by husband Leroy Mears; a daughter, Floella Mears; two sons, Eugene and Jimmie Hall. Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Sebastian and husband Carl; a son, Alan Mears; her grandson she raised, Michael Moore; seven other grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; a host of loving family and friends who loved her dearly. She will be truly missed. Funeral services will be at 11 am, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Brother Wendell Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Cypress Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Maddox Chapel.
