Glenna earned her Angel wings on July 21, 2021. She passed away peacefully in her home alongside her family.
Glenna Tolliver Barber, 57, was a longtime science educator. She began her teaching career at Cottondale High School. She taught at Chipola, Marianna high/Middle school, Grand Ridge High/Middle school, educational consultant at PAEC. In addition, she was also CPALMS Regional coordinator for FSU. She ended her career at Marianna High school.
Glenna received a Bachelor and Master of Science degree from Troy University in 1996. Her career in education spanned over 30 years. She is best known for her love and sacrifice for others. She was a Beta club sponsor and School Advisory Chair, Senior sponsor, and cheerleader coach. She believed, “to be an outstanding teacher, you must have a deep caring for your students.” Her family, friends and students brought great joy to her life.
She was born to Charles and Patricia Tolliver on Dec 8, 1963. Glenna was a wife, a mother, and grandmother. Her love for her family, friends, and students was evident, as she made that known through sponsorship, hospitality, and her amazing cooking.
Glenna was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Patricia Tolliver; sister, LeAnn Tolliver; and Son, David “Todd” Davis.
She is survived by her dedicated husband, Harold "Greg" Barber of Alford, FL; son’s, Andrew Davis (Tomilee) of Tallahassee, Greg (Rita) Barber of Grand Ridge FL, Jarrett Barber of Alford FL, John (Aeryole) Barber of Marianna, FL, and Dusty (Dayna) Barber of Hartford, AL; grandchildren, Silas, Amelia, Dolly, and Della Barber.
A private family graveside service will be conducted at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery Saturday, July 24, 2021 with Rev. Dwight Cockerham officiating and Holland Braxton speaking. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
