She was a native of Calhoun County, where she retired as Food Service Manager in the Calhoun County School System with more than 30 years. Wife of a minister, she worked in ministry for many years with her husband, Rev. Floyd W. Dennis, who precedes her in death. Ms. Dennis was a loving and caring person always helping others. Gladys is survived by her daughter, Denise Durden and husband, Tim of Grand Ridge; two grandchildren, Shari Durden of Grand Ridge and Dresa Craven and husband, Doug of Chattahoochee; two great-grandchildren Seth Craven and Leisha Craven; one brother, Johnny Whitehead and wife, Ailene of Altha; one sister, Mildred Edenfield of Altha. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 at Sneads Assembly of God Church with Revs. Juno Douglas and Jack Howell officiating. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Methodist Cemetery in the Scott's Ferry community, south of Blountstown with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
