Frank Lavon Neel

Frank Lavon Neel, 80, of Marianna, Florida died Friday, October 21, 2022.

He was born October 2, 1942 in Marianna to Hugh Benjamin and Lois. His family was always his highest priority, and immediately following his family was his faith in Jesus Christ and love of his country. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and being outside, but enjoyed it, even more, when his family joined him. Frank was a long-time member of Marianna First Assembly of God and a day wouldn’t go by that he didn’t spend time in the Word. Although he was often quiet and reserved, he was very proud of his military service and enjoyed telling people about it.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Benjamin “Ben” Neel; mother, Lois Smith; first wife and mother of his children, Linda Neel; four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Neel; son, Clif Neel; daughters, Pamala Emmerson (Thomas) and Joanna Neel; grandson, Lee Tharp, children, John and Ellie; granddaughter, Amber Tharpe (Blaine), children, Marlee Grace and Maverick; grandsons, Troy and Clay Neel; sisters, Shirley Sims (William “Bill”) and Dorothy Neel.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Chris Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
