Center. Mrs. Baxter had resided most of her life in Jackson County. She loved quilting and sewing, baking, babysitting and gardening and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Baxter; a son, Lynwood Baxter; a great granddaughter, Bethany Faith Baxter; two brothers, Ed Ham and Lewis Ham; four sisters, Estelle West, Rossie Baxter, Causey Tipton and Inez Baxter; her parents, Coy and Susie Ham and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Jean Baxter. Survivors include, one son, Clifton Baxter of Malone and special friend, Judy Ann Brown; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Baxter of Malone; three sisters, Jean Curlee of Altha, Flossie Matthews of Greenwood and Marie Fears of Malone; four grandchildren, Jeff Arron Baxter, Carol Lynn Carr and husband Michael, Jim Bob Baxter and wife Heather, Jacob H. "Cobb" Baxter and wife Anastasia; five great grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Carr, Ethan and Emma LaRae Baxter and Kayden Baxter and special friend Doris Harrell; Funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Maddox Chapel.
