Floyce James Baxter, 89, of Marianna, Florida died Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Jackson Hospital.
Floyce was a native and lifelong resident of Marianna. She worked for a number of years in banking, having worked last at The Bank of Jackson County. She also worked for the State of Florida in Children and Family Services. Floyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church in Marianna.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Willie Paul Baxter; parents, Hamp and the Reverend Alma James; a brother, Leland James.
Floyce is survived by her children, Randy Baxter (Pat) and Janet Baxter; granddaughters, Kimberly Huett (Charles), Kelly Kelly (William), Kristi Lane (Joey); great-grandchildren, Austin, Lilli, Raylie, Abby, Welden, Warren, Katie, Mariah, Makayla, Macie; and her dear caregivers, Florinda and Sandy; several nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 1, 2022 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with David Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 1:00 PM until funeral time at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
