Flora Jane Sawyer, 80, of Marianna, Florida died Wednesday, September 23, 2021, at Chipola Health and Rehab.
She was born January 30, 1941, in Nashville, Tennessee to Charles and Bernice Moore. Flora was an avid reader and loved listening to her gospel music. She was always humble, loving, kind, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her world revolved around her three girls, and later her grandchildren.
Flora was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Eley Moore; daughter, Kimberly Diane Hixson; sister, Lillian Copeland; and brother, James Moore.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Mims (Michael), Denise "Dinki" Hixson; grandchildren, Kristi Merritt, Angela "Nikki" Merritt, Randal J. Hardbower, Jeffery "Scott" Hixson, Stephen Hardbower, Matthew Hardbower, Isabella Hixson, James Hixson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 27, 2021, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Pastor Eddy Nunez officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
