Fay Spivey Wimberly

Fay Spivey Wimberly, 90, of Marianna passed away, Monday, December 23, 2024 at her home, with her sons and brother by her side.

She was born September 9, 1934 in Marianna, Florida to the late Roy William and Kerrie Mae Spivey.

After graduating from Marianna High School, she married the love of her life, W.E. "Bill" Wimberly on July 11, 1953. Early in their marriage she worked with Bill as cottage parents at Florida Industrial School. She also worked at Sealtest Dairies and helped her husband start M & W Construction Company, but her favorite position was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She loved to do ceramics, paint and for years made homemade bread that she took to family and friends. Fay was an active member of First Baptist Church of Marianna.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents; husband of almost 70 years, W.E. “Bill” Wimberly; brothers, Rex, Harold and Paul Spivey; sisters, Jeanette Avery and Jean Wyman.

Fay is survived by her sons, Rex Wimberly (Diane), Rick Wimberly (Lynn); brother, Larry Spivey (Jackie); grandchildren, Kelly Beach (Jeremy), Jake Wimberly (Courtney), Jesse Wimberly (Kristie), Jade Ferrante (Anthony); great-grandchildren, Josiah, Macee and Marlee Beach, Giada Ferrante; several nieces and nephews who will cherish the memories made through the years with Aunt Fay, sister, mom and mudder.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, December 27, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Marianna with Pastor Vince Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends at 10 AM, one hour prior to services at First Baptist Church of Marianna.
