Evelyn J. Merrifield, 76, of Marianna died Saturday, April 25, 2009 in Marianna. She was a native of Springfield, IL., Preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Merrifield;, her father, Fred Duncan and mother, Leona Duncan of Springfield, IL. Survivors are three sons, Donald E. Merrifield, of Greenwood, James Merrifield and wife, Charlene; Fred E. Merrifield all of Marianna; one daughter, Jackie Pelt and her husband, Dr. Alan Pelt of Marianna; one brother, LeRoy Duncan and wife, Marilyn of Port St. Joe; her grandchildren, Scott & Kizzie Merrifield, Bobby Merrifield, Jennifer & Matt Sablowski, Jason and Bri Merrifield, Christopher & Liz Pelt, Ashley Pelt, Ryan Pelt, Mark Merrifield, John Merrifield, Mallory Merrifield; four great grandchildren; also survived by her former husband, Eugene Merrifield of Paxton, extended family, Cathy Blasi of Marianna. Graveside funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directed.
